Hi there! My name is Eoin and I'm a composer from Dublin, Ireland.
I've been a pretty huge fan of video game music for about as long as I can remember! I'm classically trained in the piano (having completed all eight RIAM grades), but as a kid I preferred to figure out how to play tracks from my favourite games as a way of dodging my serious piano practice. When I was 11, I even did an in-depth school project analysing the music of Mario Kart! Years later, I took Music as one of my Leaving Certificate subjects, which led to me eventually studying a Two Subject Moderatorship in English Literature and Music at Trinity College Dublin (from which I've recently graduated with a 2.1 - with a specialization in Music Technology).
For my final year project in college, I developed an online collaborative sound map (snippets.earth) in order to document our changing relationship with nature as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The website relies on the Google Maps API and the Timeline.js API in order to serve audio submissions from around the globe to the end user. I was awarded a 1.1 (First Class Honours) for my work on snippets.earth!
